Seeking Resources for an Academic Paper

I'm in the process of writing a paper for Paranthropology: Journal of Anthropological Approaches to the Paranormal – (http://paranthropology.weebly.com/) – as a very introductory, objective exploration into the discussion about psychotherapists and related providers of mental health services, who utilize their mediumship abilities (or not) with their clients.

Specifically, I'm focusing on the subject of "Standards of Care" (SOC)- as mediumship becomes increasingly accepted into mainstream society and utilized via what could be called "multidimensional medicine". Where, if at all, does the idea of SOC possibly come into the picture? Should it? Would an SOC help promote acceptance into mainstream healthcare as have the better-known "alternative care options"? There are increasing numbers of people who label and promote themselves as "therapists" as well as "mediums" but the lack of information about their professional backgrounds and training, as well as any legal/official regulated licensing and certification, calls into question such concerns about accountability and quality of care. The bottom line is enabling people seeking such services to be able to make informed decisions about their care, and client self-determination.

I'm wondering if anyone has seen any thing written regarding this, or work similar to it, that’s of an academic nature and that might help me with this slightly daunting (albeit very beginning) task.
